At camp we have a “Shout-Out Wall” to share special messages of thanks and appreciation for each other, and so we want to continue the tradition here too! We want to thank those that support us during camp and year round with financial support, donated goods and services, and the partners that make our camp programming so amazing!

Girls Rock Camp 2023

Camp Week/Programming

  • RAIS (Recording Arts Institute of Saskatoon) donates their time, space, and expertise every year to host our bands in their studio and record their original songs for us (which we upload later to Bandcamp!). This is a truly unique experience for our campers that offers a taste of the professional musician life!

  • The Broadway Theatre is a fellow non-profit, community-based organization that donates their space each year for our Camper Showcase, as well as occasional board/organizer meetings.

  • The Saskatchewan History & Folklore Society will be hosting a unique zine-making workshop with our campers!

  • Local artist Cate Francis will be hosting a print-making workshop for our campers, where they will make t-shirts and posters with their band logos!

  • Guest Speakers: Rowan Fowlie-Neufeld (Songwriting); Manuela Valle-Castro (Feminim & Anti-Racism); Natalya Mason (Setting & Respecting Boundaries); Sound of Afghanistan (Singing performance by Saskatoon Open Door Society Youths)

  • On the last day of camp, Green Tree Beauty owner Jennilee Cardinal-Schultz and students from MARCA College volunteer their time and expertise to do fun hair and makeup for any campers who want a bit of extra glam before their band photos, which will be shot by the amazing Emma Love Photography this year!

  • Diane’s Place will be providing lunch for our campers on Tuesday; they specialize in vegan & vegetarian Vietnamese food, and value community care, anti-oppression and MSG. They hope it shines through in the work they do!

  • Our week-long camp is hosted by the wonderful Mayfair United Church, where we have rented space for the past few years now.

  • We rent instruments for camp from Canadian music store Long & McQuade, who provide us a great discount each year.

  • PR Productions does the audio engineering and gear coordination for our Camper Showcase, and Melanie MacPherson has volunteered to be our Showcase photographer!

  • We also want to shout-out all of our wonderful volunteers, organizers, and board members who work so hard to make GRCS so amazingly cool and fun! And we also thank YOU for donating to GRS, attending our events, and being active participants in our community! We are so grateful!
